About Perth Sri Lanka Buddhist Vihara

Welcome to the heart of spirituality, wisdom, and community at Perth Sri Lanka Buddhist Vihara. Established in 1998, our temple has grown to become a beacon of peace, cultural richness, and compassionate living in Western Australia.

Our History

Perth Sri Lanka Buddhist Vihara was founded in 1998 as an incorporated body to serve the needs of the Sri Lankan Buddhist community in the region. Over the years, our temple has evolved into a spiritual and cultural hub, welcoming individuals from diverse backgrounds who are interested in the teachings of Lord Buddha.

Our Mission and Objectives

Facilitating the Buddhist Way of Life: We are dedicated to embracing and promoting the Buddhist way of life as practiced in Sri Lanka. Teaching of Dhamma: Our mission includes providing a platform for the teaching of Dhamma for the betterment of all beings. Guided Meditation: We offer guided meditation classes and techniques, providing seekers with a path to inner peace and self-discovery. Moral Education: Every Sunday, our Dhamma School imparts moral education to children aged 4 to 15, rooted in Buddhist philosophy.

Anyone is welcome to visit and participate.

The Sri Lankan Sinhalese Buddhist Society (SLSBS) was first formed in 1998, and was formally incorporated as a Registered Society on 11 January 1999. SLSBS is the only Sri Lankan Buddhist society in WA, and we are adherents of the Theravada Buddhist tradition as practiced in Sri Lanka. Established primarily to serve the Sri Lankan Buddhist Community of WA, our current services extend to activities that contribute to the social wellbeing of the wider community.
